A Message from Pastor Mark
Dear Church Family,
Hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving. I love this time of year and look for opportunities to build bridges for the Gospel. I also want to thank you for your patience regarding our water issue this last Sunday. Our team diligently worked throughout the weekend to get it resolved by Sunday, but it just didn’t work out that way. I appreciate Pastor Carey, Michael Wilcox, Carol Horton, and Dr. Ashlock for helping us to have an online worship experience. One of our members told me that he and his wife drove up on Sunday and after they found out we had cancelled in person services, decided to drive to Glen Rose to go to First Baptist there. But the LORD began to speak to his heart about going to a small church he was familiar with from some friends who attend there. The pastor, out of the blue, said, “Brother do you have a word for us?” Well, he had a Gospel-centered message he has used many times before and shared it with passion. And even though they typically did not offer an invitation most Sundays, decided to have one that day. He noticed a young couple there and the woman had made her way to pray at the altar. Again, the LORD prompted my friend to go over to the man as he wept and said, “Why don’t you just go ahead and give your life to Jesus?” And the man hugged him and trusted in Christ in that moment! Well, when my friend called me to tell me what happened, I said, “Well, maybe the LORD orchestrated all of this just so you could share the Gospel with that man.” And we both agreed that the LORD loves in this way. Hope to see you Sunday because you never know what Jesus is going to do!
